SHANE KIM

Managing Partner

Shane has over 20 years of domain and investment expertise in financial technology, software and outsourced services companies and has led private investments in each of these sectors. 

He has served on numerous boards and led numerous investment transactions during his investment career which include: Aradigm (realized), Bluefin Payments, CardSystems Solutions (acquired by PBT Holdings), Ingo Money, Masimo (NASDAQ: MASI, realized), Masterplan (acquired by Berkshire Partners), New Horizons (acquired), Planet Payment (NASDAQ: PLPM, Lead Independent Director; acquired by Fintrax Group), Santa Rosa Holdings, Vantage Oncology (acquired by McKesson), and Viventium Software. 

Prior to co-founding Island Peak Capital, Shane was a Partner and Managing Member at Camden Partners, a growth equity firm he joined in 1999. He co-led technology services investments for the firm.  Shane is an active private investor in early stage companies such as: Fend, Firehorse Group (Chairman), Instamed (acquired by JP Morgan Chase), Rippleshot, and TRSRY. He also serves on the advisory board of Fingercheck, a HCM software platform serving SMB clients.

Shane graduated from the University of Maryland with B.S. degrees in Finance and Management Science and Statistics.

JEFF LIESENDAHL

Managing Partner

Jeff has over 25 years experience working with public and private companies serving in executive, financial and operations leadership roles and has domain experience in financial technology, cybersecurity and transaction processing companies.

Jeff currently serves as a strategic advisor to Bluefin Payments and was most recently the Co-Founder and CEO of Accertify, Inc. (acquired by American Express), a leading provider of fraud prevention, chargeback management, and payment gateway solutions.  Jeff was also a key member of the founding management team of Orbitz helping launch the initial website, completing a successful IPO and a strategic sale of the company to Cendant Corporation for $1.25 billion.

He has served in key management roles with various private equity portfolio companies including RedPrairie Corp. (Advent International and Francisco Partners), Global Vacation Group (Thayer Capital Partners) and Hawk Medical Supply (Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe).

Jeff graduated from Northern Illinois University with B.S. degrees in Accountancy and is a Certified Public Accountant.

THOMAS STAUDT

Managing Partner

Tom has domain, investment and operational experience in financial technology, HCIT and transaction processing companies.

He currently serves on the board of Bluefin Payments (Chairman), TRSRY (Chairman), Corporate Risk Holdings (Chairman), and AUI. For the past 25 years, Tom has served as CEO of several companies that have resulted in highly successful outcomes working exclusively with private equity funds such as Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, William Blair Capital Partners, and Prudential Equity Investments. His roles included Card Establishment Services (COO, Director), MedE America (CEO, Director), Reusch International (CEO, Director) and Global Collect (CEO, Director). Tom has previously served as a CEO in Residence for Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe and Great Hill Partners.  He has also served as an advisor, served as a director on behalf of, or conducted diligence on behalf of several private equity firms including Camden Partners, WR Berkley, Stonepoint and Cornerstone Equity.

Prior to these leadership roles, he served in general management roles for Citibank, Wells Fargo and Nielsen. Tom is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has an MBA from San Francisco State University.

IAN NABB

Vice President

Ian has oversight and responsibility for sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities for Island Peak Capital.  Ian has domain and investment expertise in enterprise software, human capital management technology, and software as a service companies. 

He has been actively involved in several companies in these sectors including Viventium Software, Network for Good, Katabat, and Prolexic Technologies. Prior to Island Peak Capital, Ian was a Vice President at Camden Partners, a growth equity firm he joined in 2012. During his tenure at Camden, he worked on 12 portfolio company investments aggregating over $85 million in capital deployed, many of which were technology services investments.  Ian is also a founding advisor and investment committee member for 301 Ventures, a University of Maryland focused venture fund. 

Ian earned his Master’s in Finance from the R.H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and holds a B.A. with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Maryland.
